Two new high-quality performances with the jammer have come out, both by John Moriarty,
The latest, Fur Elise, demonstrates that a jammer can play classical music readily. John did this after about a month of practicing.
The second, Penta, is John's own composition, based on the pentatonic scale. Among other things, it shows that a jammist can play things, combinations of notes, that just cannot be played on a regular keyboard.
Second, close your eyes and listen. Note the speed and fluidity with which crazy note intervals are played - comparable with a good jazz pianist.
I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with a sustain, bend and accent pedal - the last two being alternate-keyboard innovations.
